The Platform Engineering team is on a mission to create the next generation technical platform for Lloyds Banking Group, a single platform consumed by every engineer and platform across the entire group, you'll be at the heart of one of the UK's biggest financial service technical transformations.
We're looking for an experienced and passionate Software Engineer (backend) to work on our flagship Internal Developer Platform.
The ideal candidate will ideally have experience as a Software Engineer working as part of a team to build performant and maintainable backend solutions. The candidate will have a passion for technology and a commitment to delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.
What you'll do

Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance our Internal Developer Platform

Deliver features, from prototype to production, ensuring they are well tested, secure, and meet our engineering standards.

Collaborate with colleagues from across the team business, including Senior Engineers and other Subject Matter Experts.

Make suggestions for the product roadmap to ensure we're delivering the right features for our customers.

What you'll need

Extensive experience of at least one high-level programming language, preferably Python.

Extensive experience building and consuming RESTful APIs

Significant experience building solutions following Infrastructure as Code best practices employing Hashicorp Terraform

Experience using relational or NoSQL databases
-
Quality is part of everything that you do, including robust test and release automation.

Proactively removes bottlenecks, toil and repetitive work affecting developer velocity
It would be great if you also had
-
Ideally comes from a development background or equivalent e.g. STEM or Computer Science Degree

Hands-on experience building solutions for the public cloud (Azure, GCP)

Passionate about building the best possible developer experience for our engineers

Experience with serverless and containerisation technologies

Experience working with and building CI/CD pipelines ideally with Harness & Github

Knowledge of building secure solutions
