Hyndburn Borough Council is looking for a motivated Electoral Services Officer to join our friendly and dynamic Electoral Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering elections, referendums, and maintaining the Register of Electors, ensuring that residents can participate in the democratic process.
As an Electoral Services Officer, you will support the Electoral Services Manager in delivering smooth and efficient electoral services. Your key responsibilities will include:
• Maintaining and updating the Register of Electors, including managing absent voters and election staffing records.
• Handling public and stakeholder enquiries via phone, email, and in person, providing accurate and professional responses.
• Assisting in the planning, organisation, and delivery of elections, referendums, and statutory polls.
• Supporting voter engagement campaigns to encourage participation in elections.
• Keeping up to date with electoral legislation and ensuring compliance with the Elections Act 2022.

The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator, capable of handling enquiries professionally and diplomatically. Proficiency in IT will be essential, with experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and data management systems.
This role requires flexibility, especially during election periods when additional hours will be necessary, including evenings and weekends.
