Summary
About the role
Balfour Beatty has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join their rapidly expanding Power Transmission and Distribution team. The successful individual will have experience of working on large, complex power infrastructure projects. Reporting to the Head of Operations the role will provide management and leadership to a multi-disciplinary team and determine the most appropriate means of satisfying customer/project requirements.
The role can be based from our any of our Power Hubs in England such as Newcastle, Leeds, Derby or London with requirement for regular site visits.
With the Power business in a key stage of growth, there is plenty of scope for development in this role and it would suit someone with ambition and drive to grow with the business.
What you'll be doing
To make a real impact as a Senior Project Manager with us, you’ll need:
- Project delivery experience to make sure we meet high quality and safety standards
- Experience in Power/ Utilities within large infrastructure projects
- Strong communication skills to manage, mentor and empower your team
- The confidence and credibility to liaise with business leaders
- Commercial acumen to control costs and keep projects in budget
- To understand standard forms of contracts and performance evaluation techniques.

Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
- Experience of Management and Delivery of Overhead Line, Cabling or Substation schemes up to 400kV preferable.
- Strong People Management
- Proven track record in tendering and managing complex projects, including sub-contractors
- Commercial awareness with knowledge of both budgetary and Financial control
