Job Title: Manufacturing Technician - Plater

General Summary:

Join our dynamic team and contribute to the production of high-quality, engineered-to-order pumps for Original Equipment (OE) and aftermarket jobs. As a Manufacturing Technician, you will play a key role in producing superior products within set timeframes while continuously improving production efficiency, driving cost reductions, and ensuring top-tier quality and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and manufacture components based on engineering drawings.

  • Prepare steel or other metal plates and sections for diverse product lines.

  • Work with metal plates of varying thickness (from 5mm to over 100mm) using precision machinery.

  • Operate heavy-duty guillotines, oxyacetylene flame cutters, rollers, and presses to shape and form metal.

  • Weld or bolt together fabricated metal plates to create finished products.

  • Shape thin sheets of metal using hand and machine saws, cutters, and small presses.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to meet specifications.

  • Measure and mark out plates and sections for cutting, shaping, and drilling.

  • Operate CNC, hand-controlled machines, plate cutting machines, edge preparation machines, roll bending machines, and other essential tools.

  • Perform pipework fabrication or modification for pump testing.

  • Support welding activities as required.

  • Ensure material trace ability and document all components accordingly.

  • Maintain a high level of quality, safety awareness, and housekeeping.

  • Assist with additional tasks as required, with training provided.

  • Conduct material stock takes and handle material movement.

  • Uphold cleanliness and compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.

  • Maintain both paper and electronic documentation.

Education and Experience:
  • Time-served apprenticeship with up to 3 years of relevant experience in heavy manufacturing.

  • Knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing techniques.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Team player with a high level of energy, commitment, and adaptability to change.

Required:
  • Right to work in the UK.
