Job Summary:We are seeking a proactive and experienced Repairs Supervisor to lead a team of skilled tradespeople in delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance services across Sutton. This role is crucial in ensuring that all works are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards, while maintaining excellent communication with residents and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:Team Management- Lead, motivate, and support a team of multi-skilled operatives.
- Allocate daily tasks and monitor performance.
- Provide coaching and development to team members.
- Prioritize and schedule repair works to maximize efficiency.
- Ensure timely completion of jobs within agreed timeframes.
- Coordinate with planners and other departments to streamline operations.
- Conduct regular inspections of completed works.
- Ensure all repairs meet required standards and specifications.
- Address any quality issues promptly and effectively.
- Promote and enforce safe working practices.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation.
- Conduct risk assessments and toolbox talks as needed.
- Monitor and control operational costs.
- Ensure works are delivered within budget and financial targets.
- Assist in procurement and resource planning.
- Act as a point of contact for residents regarding repair issues.
- Resolve complaints and queries professionally and promptly.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on progress and outcomes.
- Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory role within repairs and maintenance, preferably in social housing or local authority settings.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of building trades, repair techniques, and relevant building regulations.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- IT Skills: Proficient in using scheduling and reporting software.
