Summary
Mitie are currently looking for a QHSE Manager to join our team at GE aerospace.
Main DutiesAs the QHSE Manager, the responsibilities include implementing our integrated business management system, identifying and minimising the risk of accidents, and collaborating with the wider Mitie QHSE team and on-site client EHS team to develop key business improvements. Additionally, the role involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and codes of practice and ensuring that operational managers and personnel possess the necessary technical competence to work safely and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and risk management.
Ensure the company's Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies are implemented consistently across the organisation.Maintain and update QHSE documentation, including manuals, policies, procedures and recordsIdentifying new and amended safety requirements / legislation to Mitie and HSE requirements.Assist in the planning and production health & safety, environmental and quality documentation, including construction phase plans, work package plans, task briefings, risk assessments, COSHH assessments, PUWER risk assessments, noise assessments and any other pertinent documentation.Supporting the on site Teams to maintain safe systems, providing specialist advice, coaching and practical support.To promote compliance with all QHSE Systems, LiveSafe Initiatives and requirements.Provision of health and safety awareness training and briefings for employees and Contractors. · Providing training and guidance to staff on QHSE policies and procedures.Dissemination of safety information and ‘Toolbox Talks'.Site inspections, tours, safety conversations - issuing all reports to Line Managers and the Compliance Team/Director.Lead and Conduct Site Audits, working with the engineering Manager and team to ensure compliance and readiness across all departments. · Coordinating corrective actions for any findings from audits and inspections.Attendance of safety, quality or environmental related meetings and site visits with both Mitie, Contractors and Clients.Undertake and assist in the investigation of accidents and incidents.Ensuring compliance with IMS Management, Supporting and Works Procedures.Facilitate and manage the Eco Online reporting system - investigate high risk close calls as appropriate.Assist in Occupational Health monitoring and schemes as required.Monitor QHSE performance through inspection, audits and engagement.Take an active role presenting workforce engagementIdentify improvements and engage with the wider compliance team, to provide solutions within the IMS Management System.Undertake any other duties as required by management, commensurate with the grade of the post.
What we are looking for:Strong knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint good written, verbal and presentational skills, and adept at problem solving.Previous experience within a commercially based role.Proficient in QHSE data analysis and reportingStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.Willingness to learn new skills, support and mentor your staff.It is essential to have an excellent understanding of CDM Regulations, Lean Sigma Green Belt (Desirable), a NEBOSH Certificate, IEMA Certificate or equivalent, and be a Grad IOSH working towards CMIOSH. Detailed knowledge of risk assessment and management, as well as experience working in a commercial, client-facing environment, are also crucial.
