Summary
North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join the Housing, Benefits & Planning team based at the Municipal Offices. This is a full-time role responsible for delivering high-quality painting and decorating services across a range of residential and council-managed properties.
Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out internal and external painting and decorating tasks to maintain and improve housing stock and public buildings
• Prepare surfaces, including filling, sanding, and undercoating
• Apply a variety of finishes including emulsion, gloss, and specialist coatings
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health and safety regulations
• Maintain tools and equipment, and ensure workspaces are clean and safe
• Liaise with tenants, colleagues, and supervisors in a professional manner
• Record and report completed work and any additional repair needs
Requirements:
• Proven experience in painting and decorating, ideally within a housing or public sector setting
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Painting & Decorating (preferred)
• Good knowledge of materials, tools, and application techniques
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Full UK driving licence (desirable)
