Summary

Our Housing Solutions service is prevention focused and is delivered both from an office base, and remotely in the City of Colchester.
The service faces a range of challenges, with an increasing demand for accommodation without an adequate supply of housing. From April 2018 the enactment of the Homeless Reduction Act has brought challenges and opportunities to further enhance the housing solutions service experience.
The Housing Solutions Team Leaders are essential to managing and guiding front-line officers and offering expert housing and homelessness advice. The Team Leaders are responsible for monitoring the housing solutions advice and homeless assessments which are crucial in targeting vulnerable customers, preventing homelessness and achieving sustainable long term outcomes.
We are looking for a Team Leader with a detailed understanding of the Housing Act 1996 Part 7 (as amended) and the Homeless Reduction Act 2017. You will be expected to use an innovative approach to Homeless Prevention and be able to make tough decisions, whilst managing your own performance and contribute to the development and day to day management of the service.
You will have experience in leading or managing a team effectively and efficiently to ensure that duties owed to clients under statutory legislation are discharged fully, promptly and effectively. Having worked in work in a day to day lead role in a fast paced ever changing environment you will have experience in the development of homelessness prevention and assessment to achieve a reduction in overall homelessness levels and the use of Temporary Accommodation in Colchester.
You will be experienced in the Social Housing Environment with a good working ability to produce and analyse statistical data, and with your excellent oral and written communication skills be able to demonstrate an ability to influence partners and stakeholders.
