Summary

Manpower recruitment have partnered with an established Hospitality environment, based in a stunning setting in Henley on Thames and are looking for an experienced Maintenance Team Leader.
*A full UK driving licence will be needed for this role.


The hours are 8am- 4pm with 30min paid break and any hours over 40 in a week are TOIL. A requirement will be 1 weekend in 4 on call - Saturday and Sunday - then you get 2 days off in that week.


The role is paying £29201pa


The Role
The role of the Maintenance Team Leader will be to supervise and work alongside the Grounds and Maintenance Team, Contractors on site and manage any ad hoc issues as they arise or escalate to the Facilities Manager as required. The role requires consistency and attention to detail.


Responsibilities:

  • Support the Facilities Manager to supervise and manage the workload of the maintenance team of 4 people, ensuring that planned and unplanned works are completed according to priority and schedule.
  • Deputise in the absence of the Facilities Manager, ensuring that all orders etc. are countersigned by the CEO and they are kept up to date with developments.
  • Support the development of the Maintenance Team to ensure they receive appropriate training for their role and feel empowered to deal with issues.
  • Undertake all training and development opportunities as required (e.g. first aid, health and safety, customer service).?

Building Fabric and Services

  • Maintain and repair the fabric of the buildings, including redecoration, plumbing, carpentry and upkeep of the grounds and external services as required.
  • Install, move and modify office furniture as required.
  • Property inspections to ensure that staff accommodation is well maintained.
  • Preparing inventories, and daily correspondence.
  • Arranging for gas, water and electrical checks.
  • Arrange contractors to get quotes and fix any maintenance issues.

Administration

  • To order materials as and when required.
  • To maintain accurate records of routine maintenance and jobs completed/parts used.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate reports as and when required by the Property Services Manager.
  • Carry out all necessary administrative work associated with departmental management requirements accurately and timely record all processes from receiving jobs through to completion including invoice pre-processing.
  • Responsible for all works on the premises, using external contractors when necessary, under the direction of the Facilities Manager.
  • Carry out planned maintenance schedules (weekly, monthly, quarterly etc.)

Health & Safety

  • Monitoring and reporting weekly/monthly H&S tasks to Facilities Manager.
  • Execute workmanship using own initiative, to a high standard and ensure it is carried out in strict compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act, and any other relevant legislation covering safety in the workplace for self and others.

Essential Skill Requirements:

  • Previous maintenance experience in Facilities Management.
  • Highly organised approach to work, including ability to prioritise own workload in a busy environment, successfully negotiate any conflict and delegate upwards when required.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible approach to duties and provision of facilities and services, including covering for all members of the team and exhibit a positive service orientation to all staff, members and visitors.
  • Highly organised, proactive person able to meet deadlines.
  • Proven line management skills in a similar role.
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite of software (Excel, Word, Outlook and the Internet).
  • Demonstrable experience in using a full range of mechanical engineering and woodworking hand tools.
  • Trade experience.
  • Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety requirements for example COSHH.
