Job Title: Personal Assistant for 10-Year-Old Boy (Autism & ADHD Support)
Location: East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire
Hours: 8 hours per week (flexible evenings/weekends – schedule to be discussed)
Rate: £12.60 per hour

About the Role:

We’re seeking a caring and experienced Personal Assistant to support our 10-year-old son, who has autism and ADHD, in building confidence and independence while enjoying community activities. This role combines fun outings (e.g., trampoline parks, soft plays) with at-home respite care, giving our family much-needed support while helping our son thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and accompany him to community activities to encourage social engagement and physical exercise.
Provide patient, energetic support during outings, ensuring safety and adapting to his sensory/emotional needs.
Assist with at-home respite care (playtime, calming activities, etc.) while parents’ recharge.
Foster his independence through structured, engaging routines.
Communicate clearly with parents about outings, challenges, and successes.
Ideal Candidate:
Experience: Proven background supporting children with autism and/or ADHD (personal or professional).
Personality: Patient, calm, and adaptable; able to engage a lively, curious child with creativity and enthusiasm.
Skills: Strong understanding of sensory needs, de-escalation techniques, and child-friendly communication.

Practical Requirements:

Driver preferred with access to own vehicle/alternatively public transport can be used for outings; willingness to undergo a PVG check.

Bonus: First aid/CPR training, or interest in active play (trampolining, sports, etc.).
