Summary
Main Duties and responsibilities Clinical Provide assessments of people referred to the team based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources Formulate and implement plans for the formal treatment and/or management of the child/young persons problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy, across the full range of care settings Be responsible for implementing a range of therapeutic interventions for individuals, carers, families and groups. These will include long and short-term interventions as appropriate to need Provide specialist expertise, advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to children and young people formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan Act as care coordinator, where appropriate, taking responsibility for initiating planning and review of ED Day Programme care plans including children and young people, their carers, referring agents and others involved the network of care To provide specialist, culturally appropriate, evidence based occupational therapy assessments as part of a comprehensive multi professional assessment for children in order to establish and meet their occupational needs. To provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessment of a child or young persons motor, process and sensory development. To inform the provision of advice and on-going intervention related to an individuals therapy needs. To select and use validated, evidence based standardised assessment tools (CAMHs/mental health & eating disorder Occupational Therapy assessment tools) To use expert clinical reasoning skills, to analyse and interpret complex assessment findings from both standardised and non-standardised assessments and a range of sources e.g. medical reports, Social Services and Education reports in order to assist with establishing an accurate diagnosis and prognosis as well as ascertain progress potential and formulate uni-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary rehabilitation goals. This includes being able to analyse and interpret complex clinical and social information from a range of sources e.g. medical reports, social services and education reports, and integrate it appropriately into Occupational Therapy assessment, therapy plans and Education Health Care Plan.
