Summary

Would you like to take a key role, leading on information governance for the Council? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to be the Council’s Information Governance Lead, reporting directly to the Data Protection Officer.

We offer the opportunity to work flexibly within a small, busy and supportive team, who are at the heart of ensuring the Council’s data remains compliant and safe.

About you…
To be successful in the role you will:
• Be educated to at least A Level standard
• Have prior knowledge/experience of governance, risk or information management
• Have excellent I.T. skills to understand how data is processed, stored and shared and use IT packages to improve performance
• Be inquisitive and detail-oriented
• Able to work proactively, without supervision and under your own initiative

About the role…
As the Information Governance Lead you will:
• Work collaboratively to support the Council's aims and objectives in relation to compliance with key legislation
• Act as the expert in Information Governance
• Act as the lead for information requests under current Data Protection Legislation (SARs) and the Freedom of Information Act/Environmental Information Regulations
• Ensure that the Council has a compliant FOI Publication scheme
• Maintain Information Governance policies and procedures
Information Governance Lead interviews will be held in the week commencing 07 July 2025. Please be advised this could be subject to change, in which case we will give appropriate notice.
