We are recruiting for an Indoor Pig Stockperson for a farm in Somerset, BA6.
The role involves working within the finishing department, looking after the younger pigs, from 6kg up to 110kg on their 400-sow farrow-to-finish unit.
Job description:
Checking the pigs and monitoring their progress
Weighing, moving and cleaning out pigs
Power washing after each move
Cover work in the farrowing herd and the serving
Operating a dry feed system
Mixing feed using locally sourced ingredients
Person specifications:
Good pig husbandry skills
Strong stockmanship skills
Commitment to maintaining high welfare standards
Exceptional attention to detail
A drive to achieve optimal results
Salary: Up to £30,000 DOE
Hours: 07:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday and 07:00 - 11:00 on alternate weekends.
