Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef de Partie to join our culinary team in Oxford, United Kingdom. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

  • Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and standards set by the head chef and sous chef
  • Manage your assigned station, overseeing the production of all dishes within your area
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of your designated area, ensuring all equipment is in good working order
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service and timely food preparation
  • Uphold strict food safety and sanitation standards at all times
  • Contribute to menu development by providing innovative ideas and suggestions
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in your section
  • Assist in inventory management and stock rotation for your station
  • Participate in quality control measures, ensuring consistent taste and presentation of dishes
  • Adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment


Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie, Commis Chef, or in a similar culinary role
  • Culinary diploma or relevant certification in the culinary arts
  • Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques and international cuisines
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation practices
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using professional kitchen equipment and tools
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Keen attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
  • Knowledge of menu planning and food cost control
  • Creative mindset with a passion for culinary innovation
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
