Summary
Are you an experienced Site Engineer looking for your next challenge on significant infrastructure projects?
We are seeking a Site Engineer to join our team on the Highways scheme in Penrith, Cumbria. This is a critical role supporting a major infrastructure project.
Location: Penrith, Cumbria
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
As a Site Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing engineering support to the Site Manager and Project Team for the highways scheme.
- Assisting with setting out works, levelling, and measuring to ensure construction aligns precisely with drawings and specifications.
- Preparing and maintaining detailed site records, including daily reports and as-built drawings.
- Monitoring project progress against the program and budget.
- Ensuring strict compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Liaising effectively with project team members, subcontractors, and clients.
- Assisting in the management of materials and resources on site.
- Identifying and reporting any potential problems or risks to the Site Manager.
- Contributing to a safe and efficient working environment.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering (HNC/HND or Degree).
- Demonstrable experience as a Site Engineer on highways schemes. While experience in Cumbria is a plus, it's not essential.
- A strong understanding of construction techniques and best practices for highway works.
- Proficiency in using surveying equipment and software (e.g., total stations, GPS, AutoCAD).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive and solutions-oriented approach.
