We are currently looking for a People Assistant to join our People Support Team on a full time basis working 35 hours per week on a permanent contract. This role is based at the National Railway Museum in York with hybrid working also available.
About the role
As a People Assistant, you will join a team who play an important part in supporting the essential work carried out by our People and Culture team. You will act as first point of contact for queries and information requests, ensuring they are dealt with efficiently whilst taking responsibility for high-volume administration of the HR system.
You will support in managing a shared email inbox, ensuring work is managed and processed in a timely manner. You will get involved in a number of areas of HR, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, pay review administration, and assisting People Partners with notetaking at formal meetings.
You will work hybrid with Wednesday and Thursday on-site at the Railway Museum in York, and the remainder of the week at home.
About you
Joining us, you will be responsive, efficient, and committed to offering a great service to your customers (primarily colleagues and candidates), along with an interest in People and HR.
You will have good administration and IT skills, with great attention to detail and the ability to coordinate a busy workload and changing priorities. To work effectively within a team, good communication and collaboration skills are essential.
