Job Overview
This is a site based role at Manchester Airport
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic tradespeople to joint our growing engineering family.
Our Multi Skilled Technicians provide a mobile delivery of facilities services across our client site. The role will be responsible for carrying out a range of general maintenance and reactive tasks tasks. They will report to one of the site supervisors and assist static engineers as required in the delivery of reactive, planned and ad hoc maintenance tasks.
Suitable training and up-skilling - May be given, as and when required, to achieve competency and the ability to deliver the services on site.
Working hours - Core working hours are 07:00 to 19:00 - 4 days on shift, 4 days off shift pattern covering weekends and bank hoildays.
Main duties
-PPM and reactive maintenance to plumbing systems and mechanical & electrical systems at a busy airport, including FCUs, AHUs, extract systems and other HVAC plant.
-Must be a qualified / experienced plumber.
-Desirable to have a building services background and fundamental knowledge of typical FM systems such as FCUs, AHUs, extract systems and/or general electrical maintenance experience.
-Able to carry out planned and corrective maintenance works to high standard.
-Able to produce accurate reports on works carried out via PDA or paperwork, as required.
-Able to work off ladders and at heights.
-Able to identify visual plant defects, warning lights and indicators.
-Able to monitor and record plant performance.
-Proactive involvement in the ongoing technical evaluation of all plant and equipment, suggestion of improvements where appropriate.
-Carrying out operational and maintenance activities as directed by management, whilst ensuring work is executed in a safe and suitable manner
-Working as directed to ensure timely completion of PPM's and reactive work to SLA.
-Identifying faults and accurately diagnosing root causes.
-Monitoring and maintaining equipment performance to ensure correct operation of the critical services
-Willing to get involved in general maintenance tasks as required by your line manager.
-To safely and efficiently install, maintain and repair plant and equipment within competency levels.
-To identify areas for additional works within and out of the specified contractual requirements
-To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time
-To understand and comply with policies and procedures
-To comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
-To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required
-To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required by management.
Personal Specification
-Experience working in an FM environment high desirable
-Recognised craft apprenticeship
-Knowledege of BMS systems is desirable.
-Liaise and co-operate with sub-contractors and other visiting service disciplines.
-Be pro-active and capable of anticipating potential faults, and diagnosing.
-Make day to day decisions that influence immediate tasks.
-Provide efficient service delivery.
-Provide a speedy and competent response in emergency situations.
-All services within remit are delivered in a timely manner.
-Excellent communication skills.
-Organised and methodical with the ability to multi-task.
-Ability to use initiative and solve problems.
-Motivated
-Customer focused person with confidence in their skills and ability.
-Able to hit the ground the running using own initiative and not require additional training.
-Presentable and approachable
-Willing to support with all asks of M&E delivery as required by the manager.
