Summary

Wrexham University is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic academic to the role of Senior Lecturer within our dynamic and expanding Cyber & Computing department. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about higher education, research, and innovation in Cyber & Computing disciplines.

As a Senior Lecturer, you will play a key role in the delivery of high-quality teaching across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will contribute to the ongoing development of the curriculum, ensuring it reflects current industry practice and pedagogical innovation. You will be expected to provide academic leadership, foster a stimulating learning environment, and take a student-centred approach to teaching and support.

In addition to teaching responsibilities, you will undertake research or other scholarly activity that enhances the reputation of the department and contributes to the University’s strategic objectives. You will be encouraged to publish your work, seek external funding opportunities, and supervise postgraduate research students where appropriate. A willingness to engage with commercial and enterprise activity will be an advantage.

The ideal candidate will have experience of designing and delivering curriculum content, a strong research background or potential, and excellent communication skills. The ability to contribute to student recruitment activities and participate in wider departmental initiatives is also important. Experience of supervising postgraduate students and the ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh would be desirable but not essential.

Wrexham University offers a supportive academic environment with strong industry connections and a clear focus on professional and personal development.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post.
