We know that everyone here at Veolia can help us work alongside our communities, look after the environment, and contribute to our inclusive culture.

What we can offer you:

- 25 days of annual leave (plus bank holidays)
- Generous bonus scheme
- Access to our company pension scheme
- Discounts on everything from groceries to well-known retailers
- Access to a range of resources to support your physical, mental and financial health; so you can lean on us whenever you need to
- One paid days leave every year to volunteer and support your community
- Ongoing training and development opportunities, allowing you to reach your full potential

What you'll be doing:

You will manage and be accountable for 'Day-ahead' to 'within-day' imbalance management of Veolia Marchant export electricity positions, taking ownership of 'day-ahead' and 'within-day' hedging and forecasting models to minimise Group exposure to market imbalance, as well as electricity dispatch modelling and instructions to Veolia merchant export fleet to increase revenue.

Analysing and forecasting market developments in the GB power market, you will have a focus on short term pricing and ancillary services mechanisms, tracking political and regulatory developments in GB power markets; turning the information into relevant analytics for the Trading Team.

And by researching primary data in the European energy markets (gas, power, coal and carbon), you will convert them to meaningful assumptions for long-term fundamental market modelling, providing advisory support to third parties and customers.

You will also be responsible for the ongoing development and deployment of Power Generation Forecasting model (imbalance management).

You will also be an Authorised Trader on behalf of Veolia, with the management of risk tools in accordance with Group Hedging Policy and be able to price new offers for third party customers, as well as running fundamental power price scenarios & Stack Modelling to define trading strategy.

A strong attention to detail and being able to thrive under pressure with tight deadlines are also must-haves - taking your own initiative to continuous improvement e.g. propose improvements to existing procedures and policies.

Having an outgoing, energetic personality - being comfortable with chasing operations repeatedly for information is key, as is being a team worker. You will also need to be extremely organised - giving regular trading performance updates/reports in an easy to understand format.

Desirable:

Having experience of working as an operator, analyst or trader in UK Power and Gas Markets, with a basic understanding of UK Power and Gas Markets, NIV chasing and cashout would also be highly desirable but not essential. Training on forecasting cashout will be provided.
