Summary

The School of Professional & Community Learning is looking for an enthusiastic and flexible person to join our team as an Hourly Paid Lecturer to teach our Floristry courses at our Hemel Hempstead Campus.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with the necessary skills to plan and deliver floristry courses along with teaching and supporting students with the creative making process. This will include the use of a range of materials, techniques and processes. An excellent knowledge of both traditional and contemporary skills and an awareness of Health & Safety in the classroom is necessary for the role.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of floristry and the passion to pass this knowledge on to our students of all ages.

You will teach beginner and experienced students how to create breath-taking floral designs, from mastering essential techniques to exploring design principles specific to floristry.

You will teach students about colour harmony, identification of flowers, care and conditioning, use of wiring in floristry, and manipulation of plant material.

This is a fixed term position initially starting in September 2025, next academic year. The end date will be reviewed annually in line with course enrolments and demand for the courses from our local communities.

The closing date for applications is 22nd June 2025. Interviews will take place week commencing 30th June 2025.
