Summary

Property and Regeneration Assistant Principal Lawyer Enfield Council has embarked on an ambitious programme of regeneration and housing development over the past few years which is continuing and delivering great homes and infrastructure for our residents. We are looking for an experienced lawyer to act as our Lead Regeneration and Property Lawyer to drive forward this area of work in Legal Services. The successful candidate will play a lead role in facilitating the delivery of our regeneration plans by working with colleagues across the Council. The candidate will carry a varied and complex caseload, including development agreements, commercial and residential property transactions, planning and highways issues, compulsory purchase matters, governance and ancillary issues arising from larger projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented and ambitious professional to join a friendly, committed and highly regarded in-house legal team to help deliver transformational and exciting projects, as well as making a real contribution to the quality of life and sustainability of the borough. We are looking for individuals who are accustomed to working at pace in a busy team. Prior local government experience is desirable, not essential, but you will need to have a keen interest in and enthusiasm for local government, as is the desire to work as part of larger project team. The successful candidate must have excellent communication and drafting skills and the ability to provide clear and concise legal advice to a variety of audiences. We work collaboratively and flexibly and welcome applications from all members of the community. All roles are open to solicitors, barristers or fellows of the ILEX. Our working patterns are hybrid and lawyers are required to attend the office to work between 2 and 3 days per week depending on the role.
