Summary

At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose – to improve people’s lives.

About the Team

B&NES Council launched last year the new Strategic Commissioning Hub, taking a strategic step to improve efficiency, standardise commissioning processes, and enhance service delivery for the residents of B&NES.

The Strategic Commissioning Hub brought together the commissioning, contract management, quality assurance and market oversight functions of Early Help, Children’s Services, and Adult Services into one integrated team.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commissioning and Project Manager to join our Live Well portfolio. You will enable adults of working age to live the lives they want to live by designing and delivering innovative commissioning strategies and service improvements.

You will work together with individuals, providers, health partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure availability of person-centred care and support that achieves outcomes that matter to people.

Key Responsibilities

• You will lead commissioning projects from concept to implementation, ensuring co-production and stakeholder engagement.

• You will analyse data and insights to inform service design and performance monitoring.

• You will drive innovation and continuous improvement across the portfolio.

• You will contribute to strategic planning and policy development within the council and wider system.

About You

Proven experience in commissioning, project management, or service development in health or social care

Strong understanding of best practice in enabling adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, and sensory impairments to live the lives they want to live

Excellent communication, negotiation, and partnership-building skills.

Proven ability to develop inclusive and empowering plans and services together with people.

This is a hybrid role that will require someone to work from different office locations within B&NES for part of the week. This role may also require occasional travel to visit other locations within B&NES. Therefore, the role will either require someone who can drive or is able to travel between different locations when required.

We require someone who can speak English fluently and will require an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check.

If you are interested in this opportunity and would like to talk through the role and what’s involved, please contact Claire Hannan, Live Well Commissioning Manager by email at claire_l_hannan@bathnes.gov.uk or by telephone on 07506403627
