Summary

Please read our attached Job Description and Person Specification for more information on our exciting role available As a Speciality Doctor working for the Childrens and Young Peoples mental health team, you will have responsibility for the provision of safe and effective care and treatment. You will share the vision of integrated and multi-disciplinary working and actively engage in the development of the service through research and support. You would, under supervision, and as part of an MDT assess and manage young people with eating disorders and co-morbid mental health problems which include common presentations in CAMHS (e.g. anxiety, depression, OCD, Neurodevelopmental disorders). The role includes assessment, formulation, at times psychological treatments such as family-based approaches, psycho-pharmacological treatments, liaison with other agencies, risk assessments and regular CPAs. You would also provide clinical consultation to members of the MDT particularly on psychiatric co-morbidities (e.g. anxiety, depression, OCD, ASD and appropriate prescribing if indicated) and would support admission to paediatric and psychiatry beds when indicated. The post holder would be expected to be approved as a Responsible Clinician or be willing to undertake training to obtain Section 12(2) MHA and will be expected to renew this approval according to agreed procedures. The ability to commute within the Trusts geographical area with access to the appropriate means of transport is essential.
