Summary
We are looking to recruit a new member to the Older Persons Assessment Unit at University Dorset Hospitals Foundation Trust on the Bournemouth Hospital Site, to assist in all aspects of the Porter/Ward Orderly role, working as part of a rota which will include days/evenings.
The successful applicant should be able to manage own workload and work with minimal supervision. Self-motivated individuals who can integrate quickly with a highly successful team are key factors of the post. Excellent team skills and flexibility are essential combined with strong interpersonal skills. You will need to be physically able to cope with the demands of this role including the high level of patients transfers in addition to the delivery and collection of equipment used by medical and non medical staff each day, and being part of a security response team.

This is a busy role, which will involve a variety of tasks including but not limited to the following:
• Patients transfers
• Delivery/Collection of all blood products and specimens
• Responding to Security alerts within the Unit
• Transportation and exchange of gas cylinders
• Waste collection, disposal and recycling duties
• Transportation of Medical & Non-Medical equipment
• Packing up and recording patient property and preparing bed spaces to facilitate timely flow through the department
• Rotate, organise and monitor stock levels
