As a Chef de Partie at Sodexo in Nuffield Health the Holly Hospital, High Road, Buckhurst Hill IG9 5HX , you’ll play a vital role in preparing high-quality meals that support patient wellbeing and enhance the overall dining experience.You’ll be responsible for managing your own section of the kitchen, ensuring every dish meets our high standards.If you’re passionate about food, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to be part of a purpose-driven team — this is the role for you. What you’ll do:
Ensure stock control and rotation procedures are maintained.
Complete all audit and quality standards documentation as required.
Prepare all foods according to standard recipes and production schedules.
Assist with the production of food for patients, visitors, and staff throughout Nuffield hospitals.
Prepare special diets for staff and patients as requested by the site’s nominated client.
Adhere to all legislation, client, and company policies in the provision of patient meal service.
Assist in preparing all meal services on time, meeting company standards and client satisfaction.
Prepare meals, salads, etc., using the ‘Food Standards’ package as a minimum standard.
Assist management with menu planning, staff rotas, ordering, receiving, checking, and storing deliveries.
Assist in meal service when required.
Maintain high hygiene and cleanliness standards in food preparation and service areas, following Health and Safety regulations.
Deputise in the Head Chef’s absence.
Assist in stocktaking and ensure store security during working hours.
Keep all working areas and surfaces clean and tidy, especially at the end of shifts.
Ensure correct storage and disposal of all food and non-food items.
Assist in staff training and supervise standards.
Ensure the security of all provisions, equipment, and utensils at all times.
Wash crockery, cutlery, and kitchen equipment manually and using automated dishwashers as needed.
Carry out any reasonable request from Hospital or Catering management.
What you bring:
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) and at least 2 years’ experience as a chef
- Strong culinary skills and a genuine passion for cooking
- Ability to perform well under pressure in a busy kitchen
- Clear, respectful communication and a strong team spirit
