The Best Connection Bedford are recruiting for a qualified and experienced Maintenance Engineer Technician to join one of our long standing clients at their site in Bedford.
This is a varied and exciting role with a mix of responsibilities for the PPM, Mechanical maintenance, diagnostic fault finding and general site health and safety compliance and production relating to the manufacture of products for the aviation, automobile and furniture industries.
Shift Patterns include but are not limited to:
Monday to Thursday: 08.30-17.00 hrs. Friday 08.30-16.30 hrs
Equivalent salary is up to £42,000K on a temp to perm basis
Responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer:
Monitor and inspect production equipment, machinery and site facilities and carry out maintenance and repairs as necessary
Devise planned preventative maintenance schedules, update scheduling software and site records
Complete root cause analysis of breakdowns and implement preventative solutions.
Ordering of stock, spare parts including inventory and critical spares lists
Produce and maintain risk assessments and safe operating procedures, liaise with management to drive operating efficiencies.
Requirements of the Maintenance Engineer:
Must have previous experience of fault diagnosis on industrial electrical mechanical systems with an electrical bias
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including assembly and breakdown of equipment and machinery
Degree and HND in maintenance and manufacturing engineering with previous work history of maintenance engineering
Competence with manufacturing software packages, monitor and drive production efficiencies
Train staff, liaise with supplier for cost control and pro-actively manage health and safety responsibilities.
