Summary

Sessional Functional Skills Tutor
Based: All Key College sites
Salary: £13.76ph - £14.24ph (depending on experience/qualifications)
Hours: Sessional

In order to change lives YMCA Derbyshire, run and market a number of commercial and support services to support a whole range of different young people.

As a maths Tutor you will be responsible for the delivery of functional skills and GCSE maths to young people who are undertaken functional skills assessments up to level 2 or who are resitting their GCSEs in Maths, ensuring that gaps in their knowledge identified from diagnostic tests are bridged and to build their confidence in exam techniques and ultimately work towards our young learners achieving their maths qualification.

This will involve planning, preparing, and delivering sessions, and developing innovative training resources that will engage learners and creating individual learning plans.
Ideally you will have the following: -

CET/AET (Certificate/Award in Education and Training) or equivalent, or willing to work towards.
Experience of delivering maths lessons to small or large groups.
Experience of working with disaffected 16 – 19-year-olds
GCSE 4 (c) or higher in maths & or English.
Experience of coaching and supporting young people to secure positive outcomes.
Level 3 qualification in maths or relevant experience that demonstrates knowledge to this level.

A driving license and use of own car is essential as there will be an expectation to work across numerous sites.

The appointment is subject to YMCA Derbyshire receiving two satisfactory references, an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check and a six-month probationary period.
