About The Opportunity:
Our Heritage Team focus on projects within the UK, and we have a reputation for high quality successful work on behalf of our clients. In this role you will be part of a collaborative team who will guide you in providing positive heritage outcomes on behalf of a range of commercial and public sector clients.
We offer an unrivalled range of project experience, working with English Heritage and Historic Royal Palaces, major developers and regeneration leaders, and individual property owners. Our current project work includes advising on the regeneration of a Grade I listed Castle, providing sustainable extension to a Garden Town and providing new uses for our Cold War Heritage.
Every day encourages a new opportunity working with major interdisciplinary teams and innovating architects to provide outstanding new developments.
What you will be doing
You will primarily assist the Built Heritage Directors to complete ongoing projects. Your work will include:
· Historic research
· Analysis of historic buildings and areas
· Advice on repairs and alterations to listed buildings and other heritage assets
· Preparation of Heritage Statements and input to the EIA process
· Preparation of Conservation Management Plans and Strategies
· Liaison with clients, local planning authorities and relevant stakeholders
About You:
· Commercially aware - with a pragmatic attitude to finding solutions to client problems.
· Technically experienced – with experience of having written Conservation Area appraisals, Statements of Significance, applications for Listed Building Consents and input into Environmental Impact Assessments.
· Confident to engage with key stakeholders to actively assist our clients to deliver much needed residential, distribution and renewables schemes
· Heritage sector experience looking to further build their career in industry
· Outstanding verbal and written communication techniques
· A relevant degree or masters degree in the conservation of historic buildings and places
· Working towards Full or Associate Membership of the IHBC
· Knowledge and interest in historic buildings and places
· Good knowledge of the English planning system
