Kitchen Manager – Aylesford
Full-Time or Part-Time | Some Weekend & Bank Holiday Work Required
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Kitchen Manager to take the lead in our staff canteen in Aylesford. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a hands-on approach, and is committed to delivering excellent food and service standards.
Key Duties:
Lead and manage the kitchen team, fostering a collaborative and positive work culture.
Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations to ensure smooth and efficient food production.
Uphold and enforce high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene in line with current health regulations.
Train, coach, and mentor kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food safety, and service standards.
Monitor stock levels, carry out regular stock takes, and manage ordering to ensure uninterrupted service.
Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure consistent and high-quality service delivery.
Assist with cooking and food preparation, stepping in for the chef two days a week and during holidays or sickness.
Key Skills & Experience:
Proven leadership experience in a professional kitchen or catering setting.
Strong culinary skills and hands-on experience in food preparation and kitchen management.
Sound knowledge of food hygiene standards and health & safety regulations.
Organised and proactive, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
A team-focused attitude and a passion for supporting others to grow their culinary abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both in the kitchen and with service teams.
