If so, we want you on our team!
You’ll play a pivotal role in leading teams to deliver cutting-edge digital solutions. You’ll be the driving force behind Agile best practices, removing blockers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring smooth, efficient delivery.
We’re looking for someone who:

- Thrives in a leadership role, guiding high-performing teams in hands-on delivery.

We have two exciting opportunities across our teams, each playing a crucial role in shaping the future of digital services at DWP:
Working Age Services (WAS) lead innovation and change across the department, delivering user-focused solutions and key welfare reforms to claimants, landlords, and DWP agents. With 30 multi-functional teams across London, Leeds, and Manchester, and Product Support in Newcastle WAS plays a vital role in national transformation programmes. This Leeds based role is part of a team dedicated to helping people into work and involves close collaboration with colleagues across the UK.
The Hosting Services team (HCS), play a key role in designing, developing, and operating DWP’s strategic hosting platforms. The role covers both our on-premise hosting estate and the transformation to public cloud, with a strong focus on improving how we work by leading teams to deliver products and services using agile values and practices.

- Be an experienced agile practitioner with in-depth knowledge and experience of agile and lean tools and techniques, with an ability to lead, role model and coach delivery specialists.
- Be experienced in leading delivery of complex areas of work involving multiple teams and senior stakeholders, building momentum and managing multiple competing demands.
- Build consensus across different services and products and to mediate between teams to achieve successful outcomes.
- Communicate with clarity, to build influence and trust at all levels of the organisation, manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate discussions about high risk and complexity.
- Optimise delivery flow of teams, implement team structure changes, and orchestrate efforts across teams to maintain and improve delivery momentum.
- Manage the most complicated risks, issues and dependencies and act as an escalation point to unblock issues.
- Line manage and coach delivery team members, providing regular feedback, supporting career development, and fostering a high-performing, collaborative team environment aligned with agile principles.
Knowledge of procuring and managing external suppliers to drive value and performance is beneficial but not essential for the role.
