Team Leader
Job location: Musselburgh, Carberry, EH21
Shift pattern: Monday to Friday: 07:00 – 18:00
Pay rate: £14.00 per hour
Smart Solutions are currently recruiting for an experience Team Leader to join our successful client based in the in the Musselburgh, Carberry, EH21 area. Our client is one of the largest, independent skip hire and commercial waste management.
Due to the site location, reliable transport is advisable.
Team Leader - Duties & Responsibilities
Right candidate must have experience working in similar role or within waste environment. We are looking for someone who has enthusiasm and excellent communication skills. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
To assist and monitor the achievement of operating targets whilst maintaining high levels of quality, safety, and environmental awareness within the site
To understand all the risks and hazards associated with performed tasks
Overall control of employees (pickers, banksmen, machine operators, maintenance, drivers, labourers)
To understand all the risks and hazards associated with performed tasks
Monitor staff presence and productivity; Check on staff regularly, ensure they are working safely and efficiently – address and report any concerns
Team Leader - Person Specification
Previous experience in a similar environment is essential
Act as the first point of contact for queries, concerns, or issues during the shift
Participate in morning meetings or briefings and communicate relevant info to teams
Take responsibility for end-of-shift walkarounds – tidy areas, lights off, keys returned, etc
Reactive to abnormalities
Supportive to colleagues
