Summary
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant practitioner to join our team, providing key support within the classroom and working closely with other teaching staff to ensure provision is effective and that learning needs are met.
Job overview
Under the instruction/guidance of class teacher and within the overall ethos of the Academy, undertake care and learning programmes and activities to support individuals or groups of pupils, including more specific support for those with special education needs. Enable access to learning for children and assist the teacher in the management of children and the classroom. Work may be carried out in the classroom or in other teaching areas.
Job requirements
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum
GCSE English and Maths at C grade or above
Experience of supporting pupils with SEN and utilising strategies to manage behaviours and meet needs, including supporting speech and language
Awareness of Child Safeguarding and the latest SEN policies to implement effective provision, including working with outside agencies to deliver EHCP provisions
Ability to effectively communicate on the pupil’s progress, with strong written and verbal communication skills
