The Organisation
A well-established and future-focused Higher Education organisation in Glasgow is going through an exciting period of change, including the implementation of a new HR and Payroll system. With a strong commitment to continuous improvement, collaboration, and customer service, this team plays a central role in supporting thousands of staff.
Your new role
You'll step into a key position supporting the operational delivery of payroll and pensions for a complex workforce for a fixed term contract unil June 2026 - with a possibility for it to be extended or converted to permanent. Acting as a subject matter expert, you'll work closely with the Payroll & Pensions Manager to ensure compliance, drive improvements, and deliver a reliable, efficient service. You'll also provide expert advice across payroll, pensions, tax, and regulatory areas - all while helping shape and embed new systems and processes.
What you will need to succeed
You'll bring significant experience in payroll and pensions within a large, complex organisation. A relevant qualification and expert knowledge of PAYE, NI, auto-enrolment, and pensions legislation are essential. You'll also be confident working to deadlines, communicating with stakeholders, and identifying ways to enhance service delivery. Experience with integrated payroll systems is key - and if you've worked with Oracle or iTrent, even better.
What you will get in return
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a friendly, forward-thinking team at a pivotal time of change. You'll enjoy a varied, hands-on role with a wide-reaching impact, professional development opportunities, and the chance to help shape the future of payroll and pensions delivery.
- Fixed term - possibility to extend to longer contract or permanent position
- Salary range from £32,546 - £36,130
