Crown Prosecution Service - South East is delighted to advertise the role of Area Advocacy Clerking Manager.
As the Area Advocacy Clerking Manager, you lead the Advocacy Clerking Team, overseeing training, workload allocation, day-to-day operations, and performance management. You are responsible for ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective clerking processes, while acting as the central point of contact for stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
You provide line management for the Advocacy Clerking Manager within the Advocacy Clerking Unit and demonstrate strong leadership across all aspects of Crown Advocate Unit performance. This includes supporting and driving the successful implementation of major change initiatives and continuous improvement strategies.
You play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering strategic change, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to meet the evolving needs of the business. You foster productive partnerships with key Criminal Justice System stakeholders, including the Bar, Chambers, and HMCTS, to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
Your responsibilities also include ensuring advocates are instructed in line with the Crown Prosecution Service Briefing Principles and the joint Crown Prosecution Service–Bar Diversity and Inclusion Statement, promoting fair, inclusive, and representative briefing practices. You manage the Crown Prosecution Service’s digital clerking systems, using data and reports to drive engagement, monitor performance, and support ongoing improvement across the unit.
