Summary
About the role
We are looking for someone to join our existing Housing team within Legal Services. You will cover outreach sessions across our four delivery areas; Gateshead, Sunderland, South Tyneside and Durham. The post holder must hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle which they are able to use for work purposes.
What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Housing Team Supervisor, Housing Triage worker will be responsible for triaging referrals into the service, conducting initial appointments with clients, identifying issues and determining whether they fall within the service scope, completing paperwork and conducting financial assessments following legal aid rules and setting up and maintaining accurate case records.
Additionally, you will support clients with a whole range of housing advice issues aswell as a wider range of social welfare issues including welfare benefits, debt and employment, where appropriate.
