About the Role: We are seeking a proficient Fire Door Carpenter to work within the maintenance team, responsible for the installation, inspection, repair, and upkeep of fire doors across a university campus in Central London. Your role will be crucial in maintaining compliance with fire safety regulations and ensuring the security of students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation, maintenance, and repair of fire doors in accordance with safety standards
- Remedial works, compartmentalisation
- Conducting inspections and ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations
- Carrying out necessary adjustments to door frames, hinges, and closing mechanisms
- Collaborating with the maintenance team to uphold campus-wide safety measures
- Advising on best practices for fire door upkeep and enhancements
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fire Door Carpenter or in a similar role
- Strong understanding of fire door regulations and compliance standards
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent qualification)
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
