Summary

Job Description GP Partner (56 sessions, 0.6250.75 FTE) Pontprennau Medical Centre, CardiffOverview We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic GP to join our friendly and forward-thinking team as a GP Partner, working 56 sessions per week. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in a well-established, supportive, and innovative practice in North East Cardiff. You will work closely with the existing partnership team to provide excellent patient care, contribute to strategic decisions, and help shape the future of the practice. Applications from newly qualified GPs expecting to complete training this year are welcome. Main Responsibilities Provide high-quality, evidence-based clinical care to patients during in-person and remote consultations. Manage a range of clinical conditions independently and safely. Take part in the duty doctor rota, including home visits where necessary. Contribute to the management and leadership of the practice as a partner, including involvement in clinical governance, QI initiatives, and business planning. Support and supervise clinical staff including nurses, HCAs, and trainees. Participate in teaching and training of medical students and GP registrars. Engage in achievement of QAIF and Enhanced Services. Attend and contribute to regular practice meetings, including monthly MDTs. Represent the practice at cluster and locality-level meetings as appropriate. Person Specification Essential: GMC registration with a full licence to practise. Inclusion on the Welsh Medical Performers List (or eligibility). MRCGP or equivalent qualification. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to high standards of clinical care and patient-centred practice. Ability to work effectively in a team and collaboratively with all members of the practice. Willingness to participate in the leadership and business functions of the partnership. Desirable: Experience or interest in teaching and training. Interest in Enhanced Services (e.g., minor surgery, contraceptive services, joint injections). Experience in clinical governance, QAIF, or QI projects. Familiarity with EMIS Web and paper-light systems. Interest in taking on a clinical lead role (e.g. safeguarding, QAIF, training).
