What you'll be doing:
The purpose of the Commercial Manager role is to effectively source and procure materials in alignment with the company's objectives, while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, managing costs, analysing market trends, and ensuring compliance with regulations and ethical standards. The specialist also proactively identifies and sources materials to fulfill operational requirements and contribute to the company's success.
- Drive business growth and manage regional budgets while fostering an inclusive, safe workplace culture
- Develop and execute sales strategies, optimise revenue through strategic pricing, and build key relationships
- Implement effective people management processes and comprehensive training programs
- Identify and develop talent while maintaining high employee engagement levels
- Monitor operational and financial performance, analysing data to identify growth opportunities
- Maintain competitive advantage through market analysis and strategic planning
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, customers, and industry partners
- Create a positive work environment that promotes professional development
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies
- Drive continuous improvement through implementation of best practices
What we're looking for:
- Background in a business or environmental related subject or proven extensive experience in sales/business development
- Strong leadership and management skills, with prior experience in overseeing a sales team
- Detailed knowledge of commodities markets with a good understand of all products i.e paper grades, material quality
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Experience/proven track record of bid creation, negotiation and understanding of complex contract management
- Strong understanding of Business analytics and being advanced at turning data into insight.
- Adaptable and unphased by rapidly changing market conditions. Must be an agile thinker
- Strong stakeholder management both externally and internally given this role with interact extensively with Head of Ops, Sector Heads and Commercial Leadership Team.
