Summary
Your new company
We are recruiting for a well-known organisation who specialises in finding suitable accommodation for vulnerable individuals who are homeless. We are looking for a dedicated Outreach Support Worker to join their Assertive Outreach Team on a temporary basis. This position will run for 4 weeks but could be longer depending on the individual. Experience working with homeless individuals, Support Work and a valid DBS on the update service will be required.
Your new role
You'll play a vital role in supporting individuals who are rough sleeping across Gloucestershire. This is a hands-on, community-based role that involves:
- Conducting outreach sessions 7 days a week, including early mornings (from 7:30 AM or earlier), evenings, and weekends.
- Building trusting relationships with rough sleepers and identifying their needs.
- Completing needs and risk assessments to develop tailored support plans.
- Providing advice and information to help clients access services and move away from street homelessness.
- Working closely with local services, day centres, and drop-ins to remove barriers to support.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience working with individuals with complex needs and/or challenging behaviours.
- A valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle (business insurance required).
- An in-date DBS and completed references - ready to start immediately.
- Flexibility to work across a 7-day rota, including unsociable hours.
