This part-time post (22 hours per week) is available immediately on a fixed term basis for two years.



About the role

The University of Exeter is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of its staff. The University Occupational Health Service is an in-house nurse led service, which is involved in ensuring that university staff are working safely and that their work is not impacting on their health.



The Occupational Health team support all employee Health Surveillance requirements. These are employees who need regular checks to ensure that work is not impacting on their health. Other work in occupational health includes supporting employees at work and providing advice to managers on how to effectively support employees with work.



This role is a vital part of the team as the post holder will support certain university staff to receive their health surveillance test. This will involve administration in setting up appointments, setting up the clinic space and equipment and directly carrying out specific tests in the clinic, such as audiometry and spirometry tests. Training would be provided.

The main elements of the role will include conducting health surveillance testing (audiometry and spirometry); acting as a central point for Health Surveillance administration, management of paper and electronic clinical records via the Occupational Health Service Data Management system and assisting the OH Admin Lead with management of HS data and programmes.



The Occupational Health team is small and friendly team of experts, who are each committed to supporting the wellbeing of university employees. It’s a friendly team based on the main university campus (Streatham) and occasional travel may be needed to St Lukes (Exeter) campus.
