Main Duties

Job Objectives, Responsibilities & Main DutiesExperienced Site Manager required for Immediate start in London

-Intimate involvement from notification of schedule of work, through mobilisation, and on site delivery to handover.

-To deliver a successful Project to specification and required standards in a safe environment to agreed budgets and Programmes.

-To create and maintain an excellent working relationship with our Client and exceed expected levels of satisfaction.

-To maintain a safe and orderly site.

-To effectively manage a directly employed labour force to ensure that key milestones and quality expectations are achieved.

-To assist the commercial team in cost and value engineering to maximise revenue and profit.

-To comply with all contractual requirements and instructions

-To comply with all Mitie Policies and Processes

-To operate in a professional and confidential manner

-Oversee day to day operations and supervision of operatives

-Regular inspections of standards of work, equipment, vehicles etc.

-Issue regular tool box talks

-Wage collection

-Weekly handover meetings with the client / contracts manager

-Ordering of materials and equipment

-Managing client expectations, resolving all problems within a timely manner

-To liaise with the Contract Manager, Regional Manager, Operations Managers, Surveyors and Contracts and Admin Staff to carry out duties as required by contracts to the required specification and in a competent and safe manner while within the given deadlines and budgets

-To supervise and support site teams

-To work closely with the Contracts Manager & Project Manager for the efficient use of planning and scheduling labour to maximise productivity and minimise downtime

-To assist with operational responsibility for works on site

-To assume responsibility for operatives in line with contracts you are in charge of

-To familiarise oneself with the requirements of each project / contract you are assigned to and to ensure specifications are adhered to

-To liaise with either the Operations Manager, Contracts Managers and Surveyors to ensure that contracts achieve the margin they are priced at

-To liaise with the Customers to ensure that projects run as smoothly as possible

-To liaise with the Operations Manager / Project Manager regarding procurement of labour and plant equipment and material

-To liaise with Administrators to ensure that the correct operations are used for the purchasing procedures and ledger systems

-To ensure that all items of work are inspected, and any defects rectified prior to the completion date and the client's inspection

-To ensure that all accidents and incidents on their projects are reported promptly and accurately

-To ensure the issues and re-issues of all required PPE equipment to Operatives

-To ensure that the site-specific risk assessment and method statement have been read and understood by all Operatives on all contracts

-To prepare, inspect and evaluate workmanship and site safety

-To keep accurate records and effectively communicate all relevant information

-To be responsible for implementation of the Health and Safety policy of the Company

-To follow and maintain the Mitie Discipline Management System

-To ensure that all new employees are inducted and that their abilities reflect the standards required by the company and identify any training needs

-Establish an effective working relationship between Operatives

-To operate in a confidential and professional manner

-To ensure that all Projects are resourced appropriately to deliver the Programme

-To work in a pro-active manner

-To manage one's own time to achieve objectives

-To comply in all regards with the company's objectives in relation to quality assurance procedures and systems

-Using a commercial stance to seek potential opportunities where profit enhancement may be possible

-To foster good working relationships with clients, colleagues, and company suppliers

-Ensure HR & H&S policies and procedures are adhered to with the support from the relevant team as appropriate

-Attend team/management/labour meetings as required

-Intimate involvement in Project from Preconstruction activity, through mobilisation, and on site delivery to Final Account and post construction requirements (O&Ms and H&S File)

-To create and maintain an excellent working relationship with our Client and exceed expected levels of satisfaction.

-To organise and monitor Subcontractors to ensure that key milestones and quality expectations are achieved.

-To comply with all contractual requirements and instructions

-To comply with all Mitie Policies and Processes

What we are looking for
-Person Specification

· Track record in successful delivery of Cyclical Redecoration & Refurbishment Projects

· In depth knowledge of Painting, Building Refurbishment, Pre-decoration Repairs and flooring

· Ability to communicate effectively at all levels

· IT literacy including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

· Knowledge of Construction Health & Safety - SSSTS minimum

· Commercial awareness

· Current DBS clearance (this can be arranged)

· Clean current full UK driving license

· Ability to maintain good working relationships with Client, sub contractors and other Mitie Team members.

· Ability to delegate effectively

· Ability to manage people and processes.

· Good verbal and written skills

· Display drive and a will to succeed

· Health & Safety Qualification desirable

· Asbestos Awareness

· Knowledge of Working at Height

· Manual Handling

· Strong verbal & written communication skills

· Driven & hungry individual continuously able to demonstrate they can meet challenges & objectives whilst working to tight deadlines

· Comprehensive technical knowledge in aspects of Commercial Painting

· Proven track record in successful delivery of major refurbishment projects.

· Competence in Health & Safety Skills

· Track record of producing solutions and analytical thinking

· Ability to organise and assist the running of multiple Contracts at any given time

· Proven track record in selection and recruitment of operatives

· Ability to accelerate Programmes where required

· Sector experience essential

· Must have recognised qualification and or checkable experience as a Site Supervisor

· Good knowledge / awareness of Health and Safety Issues.

· Ability to organise workload in a methodical way for maximum effectiveness and efficiency.

· Ability to be proactive and take initiative.



Health and Safety responsibilities

• Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times

• Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment

• Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received

• Report any issues or training needs to your Line Manager via your divisional incident reporting system





Information Security

• Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities

• Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager

• Report actual and suspected security incidents
