Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint a qualified, enthusiastic, and resilient Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1, or in small groups, with SEN pupils with our Reception cohort for September 2025. Please note that this role is attached to the top-up funding for specific pupils at the school and as such, if the children should leave the school or the funding should cease, the post would end.
The successful candidate will:
• Have previous experience of working with children in an educational setting ideally with pupils with SEN needs.
• Be enthusiastic, highly motivated and able to use own initiative.
• Have a good standard of general education evidenced by three or more GCSE’s at grade C/4 or above, including English and maths, as well a minimum of a level 2 certificate in supporting teaching and learning.
• Have good interpersonal skills with both adults and children.
• Be physically fit and willing to be trained in Team Teach.
• Have experience of working with children with additional needs.
What the school offers its staff
Worle Village is a successful ‘family’ school with a modern and exciting curriculum and learning without limits ethos. We can offer the successful candidate:
• The opportunity to work with a friendly and highly skilled team of colleagues committed to providing a quality education to our pupils.
• A caring, nurturing, family atmosphere with delightful pupils and supportive families.
• A ‘good’ school as evidenced by Ofsted during its most recent inspection.
• Regular opportunities to participate in training and professional development.
Further details about the role
Application forms and covering letters, outlining your suitability for the post, should be sent to the email address on the school website. The application form can also be downloaded from the website.
Commitment to safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Our recruitment and selection process relating to references are rigorous and comply with national and local guidance regarding child protection policy and procedures. Any offer of employment will be conditional upon the outcome of an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
