Job Responsibilities People Leadership Oversee the recruitment and retention of staff and provide a general personnel management service Evaluate, organise and oversee staff induction and training, and ensure that all staff are adequately trained to fulfill their role Develop and implement effective staff appraisal and monitoring systems Support and mentor staff, both as individuals and as team members Implement effective systems for the resolution of disputes and grievances Keep abreast of changes in employment legislation Maintain up-to-date HR documentation (including job descriptions, employment contracts and employment policies) Provide appropriate support and motivation to the team. Work effectively as a member of the management team. HR Support first line adviser on the day to day queries, grievances and HR Matters Employment law handle sensitive legal issues and be knowledgeable of legislative changes. Investigation & disciplinary process plan, conduct or support managers, chair and document cases end to end. Service and Quality Leadership Assess own performance and take accountability for own actions Manage own time, workload and resources Effective communications with the front line, listening and communicating messages from the front line up to the Partners. Challenging the status quo and leading on the development of workforce plans. Establish excellent working relationships with clinicians at all levels Lead on the delivery of all aspects of performance including quality of services, patient experience, governance, HR and organisational development. Support the delivery of performance targets and practice governance, including ensuring the practice remain CQC ready at all times. Identify where policy gaps exist and put in place new or revised policies ensuring effective implementation Managing practice complaints in line with nationally expected standards Managing the significant event process in line with nationally expected standards Identify areas where information gaps exist and work with the wider team to agree requirements and production of agreed reports Will represent the practice at meetings as needed Constantly seek out opportunities to reduce costs and find efficiency savings for the practice. Organisational Convene meetings, prepare agendas and ensure distribution of minutes as necessary Develop Practice protocols and procedures, review and update as required Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and standards Act as a contact for NHS, ICB, community services, suppliers and other external stakeholders Ensure business continuity Business planning Participate in the setting of practice objectives, priorities and targets for action and monitor the implementation of objectives to meet such targets as required. Ensure that the senior management team has access to relevant information to allow decision making when the practice manager is not immediately available. Work with partners to develop a short (1 year) and long term (8 years) business plans for the practice. Develop and maintain a good understanding of the GMS and PCN DES contracts Keep up-to-date with any contractual changes and work with partners to develop a plan to achieve any new targets or requirements. Financial Management Liaise with the Accountants, bank representatives and Health Authority Oversee day-to-day management of the practice financial systems. Positively contribute to the ongoing financial stability of the practice Ensure the practice receives any payments owed in a timely fashion
