We’re looking for a Family Practitioner – Family Support to join our Spurgeons Birmingham Family Hub team, working across Erdington, Hodge Hill, Perry Barr and Sutton Coldfield. You’ll support families with children aged 0–5 (with flexibility up to 19), delivering targeted support and building strong relationships that make a lasting difference.
What your week will look like
3-5 days delivering in local hubs, schools, Family Homes or community venues, meeting families face to face, working with families and professionals in providing the right help at the right time to families.
Virtual and face-to-face support tailored to families needs across the streams, including occasional evening and weekend sessions
Using Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint to complete admin and reporting tasks
Gathering feedback from parents and partners to support quarterly data and evaluation
Working collaboratively with Family Hub Practitioners, Parenting and Group Workers and Community and Family Navigators, as part of a supportive, multi-skilled team
You’ll receive a strong induction, regular supervision, and the opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic and values-led environment.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
Experience supporting families with young children (0–5), including home visits, assessments, and structured interventions
Confidence working with a wide range of families and professionals to create strong support plans
Excellent listening, communication, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of safeguarding, early help pathways, and community resources
A Level 3 qualification (e.g. Health & Social Care, Working with Parents) or equivalent experience
The flexibility to work across locations—and occasionally during evenings or weekends to meet family needs
