Our client is looking for a passionate and organised Third in Charge to join their management team. This is a full-time, fully office-based and supernumerary position – ideal for someone seeking to grow their career in early years leadership.

This well-established and friendly nursery provides a nurturing environment for children aged 0–5. With a strong emphasis on teamwork, inclusion, and high-quality early education, the setting values every team member's voice and experience.

As part of the leadership team, the Third in Charge will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring excellence in care and compliance with all operational standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years – essential.
  • Previous experience in a nursery leadership role, such as Deputy Nursery Manager or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding, and child development.
  • Confident, professional communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive team player with the ability to lead with empathy and fairness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager in all aspects of nursery operations.
  • Maintain and promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Provide mentoring and supervision to staff, supporting development and best practice.
  • Ensure nursery policies and procedures are consistently followed across all rooms.
  • Assist with staff schedules, room planning, and daily operational logistics.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with children, families, and the wider team.
  • Contribute to audits, inspections, and continuous improvement processes.
