Are you looking at taking the next step in your clinical leadership career?

We are seeking to recruit a dynamic Senior Occupational Therapist with proven clinical skills, knowledge and experience to provide clinical leadership to an established team of Occupational Therapists, OT Assistants, Apprentices and support staff in the Mental Health and Personality Disorder Teams at Rampton High Secure Hospital.

The post holder will lead and contribute to the clinical development of the services, hold a small complex patient caseload, deliver therapeutic groups and professionally supervise OT staff and students.

We are looking for an enthusiastic compassionate and motivated leader with excellent communication skills to make a difference to the lives of our patients.

In return we can offer an additional £7,000 high secure allowance to successful applicants.

This post will clinically lead the Occupational Therapy service with support from the Occupational Therapy Professional Lead within the Mental Health and Personality Disorder care streams at Rampton High Secure Hospital.

This role requires a high level of clinical and professional expertise, so patients detained at Rampton hospital their carers and families benefit from a well-coordinated pro-active, specialist, efficient and effective occupational therapy service.

The post holder is responsible for providing highly specialist assessment, formulation and interventions, requiring advanced clinical reasoning, critical thinking, reflection, interpretation and analysis. Clinical related work will include assessment, individual and group therapy, training, advice and liaison through a consultative and coaching approaches, as appropriate.

The post holder will lead on strategic developments within their specialism in liaison with their line manager. They will also lead on the development and delivery of training and professional mentorship.

The post holder will deliver preventative information and guidance, working to empower parents, carers, other professionals, and agencies.

The post holder will work as part of the wider multi- disciplinary team providing a high quality, effective, accessible, person and family- centred services.

The post holder will work at Rampton Hospital within the Therapies and Education Service, clinically leading therapy teams within the Mental Health and Personality Disorder care streams.

To provide specialist advice, clinical supervision, case discussion & formulation to occupational therapy staff and students.

To provide clinical leadership, enabling the provision of a of high quality evidence based occupational therapy service within the high secure forensic setting.

To promote best and evidence-based practice within the team, innovating practice and service developments and supporting other staff in this.

To develop and provide an effective, specialist programme of occupational therapy which will include responsibility for delivery and co-ordination of treatment programmes

To manage a caseload of complex patients, working within multi-disciplinary teams ensuring that high quality individualized care is provided and delivered.

The post holder will lead on the development and delivery of training and professional mentorship in liaison with the OT Professional Lead.

The post holder will work as part of the wider multi- disciplinary team providing a high quality, effective, accessible, person-centred service.

To develop and maintain links with Occupational Therapy University programmes, including undergraduate, postgraduate and apprenticeship routes.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
