Summary

Systems Developer (C#/Angular/SQL Server) - Vision
Contract term: Permanent, full-time
Hours: 37 hours over 5 days
Location: Hybrid – 3/2 Split
Salary: £34,499 rising to £40,301 per annum

What you’ll do: 

ACT Training is seeking an experienced Developer to join our Digital Development team, responsible for maintaining and enhancing Vision, our core management system. This system is mission-critical and built on a C#/NET and Angular stack with SQL Server database.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the system’s stability, performance, and ongoing development.

The role is hybrid, working 3 days in the office and 2 homebased.

ACT is committed to promoting the Welsh language for both staff and learners, and whilst it is not considered essential criteria, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and improve the existing Vision system, including bug fixing, enhancements and system upgrades.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of Vision.
Provide detailed documentation and knowledge transfer within the team.
Engage actively in regular code reviews and pair programming sessions to improve code quality and share knowledge.
What we need from you:

BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or a proven track record of self-development
Strong proficiency in C#, .NET, and Angular.
Solid experience with SQL Server including database optimisation, query tuning, and stored procedures.
Experienced in software design and development in a test-driven environment
Experience with legacy systems maintenance and technical debt reduction.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to clearly communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
