Summary
***Expertise - Pollution Monitoring***
Main Areas of Responsibility: Contaminated Land:-
• Provide advice and support to the Planning, Transportation and Building Surveying Service, and where appropriate, other Council Service areas in the identification, assessment and remediation of potentially contaminated land.
-To develop the City’s contaminated land strategy, contribute to its update when required and its continued implementation.
-Implementation of the City Council’s Contaminated Land Inspection Strategy.
-Operate computerised systems, including GIS, to analyse environmental data relating to Contaminated Land.
-Prepare material for presentation at meetings and consultations and assist with organisation of such processes.
-To assist, in liaison with MIS, in the development and maintenance of a Contaminated Land Information Management System for Liverpool City Council utilising GIS databases and files and incorporating historical information sources and other relevant data layers.
-To deal with enquires from and provide advice and information to the public, other agencies and Council Departments relative to the functional group.
-In relation to Contaminated Land, to attend Committee, officer, site and public meetings and to provide evidence on facts at Court hearings.
General:-
-To keep records and other relevant administrative and statistical details as required.
-To participate in the practical training of staff as part of any agreed departmental training strategy.
