More detail about the role Working mainly with your designated care homes, you will develop the specialist knowledge and skills to assess and manage incontinence, improving your patients quality of life and promoting best practice in this common but often complex and challenging health condition. You will play a key role in delivering the Devon NHS containment pad service, processing continence assessments and ensuring compliance with the pad provision criteria. You will advise and support community nursing teams with bladder and bowel care, occasionally in joint home visits to their patients, and deliver a range of education and training to care homes, care agencies and community healthcare practitioners. You will assist the specialist nurses in our own team with uroflowmetry clinics at Newton Abbot community hospital. We regularly share knowledge and expertise within our team of nurses and assistant practitioners, and have regular supervision and education alongside our bladder and bowel care colleagues working in North Devon and Exeter and East Devon. Applicants must be car drivers who are completely comfortable with information technology. We use an electronic patient record and make extensive use of MS Teams for training and meetings. Whilst previous experience of bladder and bowel care would be useful, equally important is your enthusiasm, your high standards and your motivation to be part of a team who care. If you join before the implementation date, the pay award will be backdated to your start date.
