Summary
Key responsibilities include Making autonomous professional decisions regarding presenting problems Assessing the healthcare needs of patients both undiagnosed and complex presentations Screening patients for disease risk factors and early indicators of illness Creating care plans in consultations with patients aligned with disease management protocols Providing counselling and health education Admitting or discharging patients to other care providers as needed Maintaining accurate and timely consultation notes Referring patients to third party services Gathering data for audit and quality improvement purposes Issuing computer generated prescriptions, prescribing in accordance with the practices prescribing formulary Allocation of On-Calls sessions Undertaking all routine duties and responsilibities expected of a GP working in primary care.
